Wheels and Tires

Can-Am ATVs are known for their versatility, but they’re made to stand up to a lot more than just being driven around the block. If you’re planning on hitting the trails this summer, you’ll need to prep your Can-Am ATV with everything from new tires to better steering.

New wheels and tires are a great way to improve the look of your Can-Am ATV. Not only do they give your ride a clean and polished look, but they also help with handling and traction. The wheels on your Can-Am ATV are designed for different terrains, so it's important to know what type of terrain you'll be riding in before you buy your new set.

If you're planning to ride in sand or mud, get all-terrain tires that can handle these conditions. If you're going to be riding in the snow, get snow tires instead. And if you live in an area that gets plenty of rain throughout the year, then consider getting wet-weather tires that have extra treads to prevent hydroplaning. Basecamp Motorsports can help with Can-Am off-road promotions, parts, and service in Canada.

Controls and Air Filter

Check that all of the controls are working properly and are adjusted correctly. Make sure that your throttle, clutch, and brakes are not sticking or responding slowly. Also, make sure that your steering wheel turns freely without any binding or sticking.

A clogged air filter can lead to decreased gas mileage and poor engine performance — not exactly what you want when you're trying to save money by using less fuel on the go! You should check this every two weeks or so just to make sure it doesn't get too dirty or clogged up with dirt and debris from being outdoors all day long.

Engine Oil

The first thing you'll want to do is check your engine oil and fill it up if needed. Make sure you use the correct viscosity of oil for your ATV model. It's best to use a synthetic blend that provides a higher level of protection against heat, friction, and wear. If you're unsure which grade of oil is right for your ATV, check the owner's manual or contact a professional service technician at your local dealership.

One of the most important parts of your ATV is its engine oil. You should always check the oil level before heading out and top up if necessary. The ideal temperature range for your engine oil is between 70°F and 100°F, but you should check with the manufacturer before adjusting it too high or low. You can add more if necessary, but be careful not to overfill it, or else you risk burning out your engine!

Fuel Filter
Check the fuel filter for any obstructions like leaves or dirt. If you see anything that looks questionable, remove it immediately and clean out your tank with fresh fuel.

Battery

Check your battery terminals and cables for corrosion and clean them up if necessary. Make sure they're tight and then reconnect them firmly.

Coolant

Check coolant levels often during the summer months when temperatures can rise quickly. Also, check hoses for damage or leaks; replace them if necessary.

Spark Plugs

If your Can-Am ATV is getting up there in age (5+ years), it's time to replace these important parts with new ones! Spark plugs need replacing every 30,000 miles or so depending on how much you ride in extreme conditions (heat/cold). They can also look burnt out even when they're not - just keep an eye on them and make sure they're clean and shiny before riding again!

Fuel

Fuel is also very important when preparing an ATV for use this season. Make sure that you fill up with fresh gasoline before taking it out on the trails so that you can avoid a dangerous situation while riding off-road where there aren't any gas stations nearby.
